Welcome

My name is Geoffrey and I run the Robot Wars easter event along with a great team of people which I hope to introduce to you in the near future.

5 years ago 'Robot Wars' the TV series disappeared from normal viewing but although the series ended interest did not.
This is your opportunity to see many of the Robots from the TV series live and up close, including seeing how the roboteers work in the pit area. The pits are visually open to the public so everyone can get a glimpse 'behind the scenes'.
The Roboteers love pitting their robots against each other and although no longer shown to millions they continued to get together and battle.

I originally got involved as a promoter for the shows, finding the venues and alerting local people to the event.
The Roboteers grew and continued to come from across Europe to take part in the battles that raged.
Fighting robots have also become an educational tool and a major factor in encouraging students to take engineering seriously and many schools, colleges and universities are involved in building and competing with robots.
The roboteers now have league tables and a huge following of ardent supporters who keep the robots battling against each other for our entertainment and the Roboteers satisfaction.
In total there are 62 Robot teams with a combined total of 154 robots. The featherweights and heavyweights have their own rankings.

Each year the Roboteers volunteer their time to battle, coming from all over Europe to take part in the Easter Championships.
Each roboteering team consists of robots from heavy weights to the featherweights.
Each team can consist of up to three members, often families, to fight for the championship.

The Roboteers and the safety are overseen by the FRA (Fighting Robots Association).
The FRA performs safety checks and makes sure the audience and roboteers are safe.

The Easter championship is made up, usually, of 3 'shows'.

I hope you will join us.
More details will be shown on the website as it becomes available plus I will put updates here.
